Process Engineer    

Calne, Wiltshire

Permanent

37.5 hours per week.

Monday to Thursday 08:00 -16:30

Friday 08:00 – 13:00

The role will require one day per month to be worked at the weekend and the role could eventually become shift based. 

I have been instructed by our client to recruit a Process Engineer to report to the Engineering Manager and be responsible for supporting the manufacturing engineering team with a variety of tasks.

Experience with wave and selective would be advantageous.

Key responsibilities will be for Maintenance, Programming, Profiling, Process, and Improvements for:

  • Wave soldering lines
  • Selective soldering lines
  • Coating lines
  • Cleaning equipment
  • Vapour Phase equipment

Secondary/support responsibility for Maintenance, Programing, Profiling, Process and Improvements for:

  • SMT Placement Machines.
  • Solder Print.
  • Solder Paste Inspection.
  • SMT Reflow Oven.
  • Automated Optical Inspection.
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for equipment and processes.
  • Maintaining machine fault log.
  • Process checks.
  • Managing logs of used consumables.
  • Work in full co-operation/collaboration with the engineering team.
  • Maintain a good standard of housekeeping to ensure a safe environment.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant company policies and procedures.
  • Installing new equipment with engineering and facility teams.
  • Identifying and resolving product and process related issues and barriers to success and propose corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Support Production and customers in providing a manufacturability product by applying current best practice manufacturing techniques and ensuring awareness as to the suitability of the product for manufacturing.
  • On occasion provide operating procedures and related documentation for current and new customer’s product.
  • Identifying and resolving product and process related issues and barriers to success and propose corrective actions to prevent recurrence of issues.
  • Report on First Time Building performance maintaining status records of all products/projects within personal scope and responsibility.
  • Support New Product Introduction

Key objectives:

  • Preventive maintenance done in scheduled dates.
  • Programs and profiles done on time.
  • Well organised spare parts list and key spare parts on site.
  • Well maintained log of machine and process faults.
  • Well documented procedures and forms.
  • Share responsibility for built products – quality.
  • Process improvement activities.
  • Process problem solving.
  • Process checks done on time.

This list is not exhaustive and in addition to these duties and responsibilities the Process Engineer is required to carry out any other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time.
