Part Time Payroll Officer

Looking to secure a part time role, working a 4 or 5 day a week?

Set in a beautiful location, our client is looking to recruit a Part Time Payroll Officer to be responsible for administering the payroll, pensions and benefit functions . It will be the primary point of contact for all payroll, pension and benefit queries and will work closely with the HR function and the rest of the Finance team to ensure the accurate running of payroll and pensions, ensuring legal compliance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Processing any employee pay related changes on the payroll system as notified by the HR team, eg new starters, leavers, allowances, absence adjustments (sickness/holiday/maternity etc.), overtime, changes in hours and pay rises
  •  
  • Calculating SSP/SMP/SPP and holiday pay when necessary
  •  
  • Preparing and submitting all monthly and annual data and returns to HMRC, pension providers, and other agencies and organisations and making monthly payments by set deadlines
  •  
  • Preparing and posting the monthly payroll journals to the nominal ledger
  •  
  • Reconciling payroll related control accounts monthly
  •  
  • Performing the payroll year end including submissions to HMRC, completion of annual returns and preparation of P11D’s
  •  
  • Assisting in maintaining monthly and year end staff headcount data
  •  
  • Preparing year-end reports for the Head of Finance and external auditors
  •  
  • Experience in responsibility for processing monthly payroll and associated employee benefits
  •  

Candidate Specification:

  •  
  • Must have previous experience in Payroll
  •  
  • Any recognised payroll qualification desirable
  •  
  • Excellent IT and systems skills, particularly in Excel
  •
