Job Title – Health & Safety Site Lead

Location – Bath

Salary – £35-40K

My client is looking to recruit a Health & Safety Site Lead to join their manufacturing company based in Bath. The company are a world leading manufacturer of precision parts, primarily serving the automotive, aerospace and power generation industries supplying a worldwide customer base.

The company has three sites within the South West of England, one in Bath and two in Devizes and this position will be based within the Bath site on a full-time basis.

The role will report directly into the HSE Manager and deputises in his absence and partners with the Environmental Specialist, to ensure the site is kept up to date with current legislation and site wide policies and procedures. This role will be responsible for promoting and encouraging excellent standards and continuous improvement of health, safety and environmental management within the business

Main Duties

  • Site lead for all H&S issues including compliance with all relevant standards
  • Deputy in the absence of the HSE Manager
  • Provide high quality professional advice and best practice to Line Managers on all aspects of Health and Safety
  • Lead on a range of forward-thinking H&S initiatives and projects
  • Working with the HSE Manager, act as site lead for any safety-based audits, legislative based visits or inspection
  • To ensure that systems and procedures for recording and investigating accidents are complied with
  • To collate, analyse and interpret accident statistics, including regular reports where comparisons and trends can be identified, and appropriate corrective action taken
  • To identify areas of significant risk, accident trends and provide possible solutions
  • To record all accident and incident data to ensure regulatory compliance reporting standards are maintained- e.g., RIDDOR, OSHA
  • To support and attend all site-based Health, Safety and Environment meetings and provide relevant information to ensure proactive outcomes
  • To ensure that site has sufficient, competent and trained personnel to ensure all potential risk areas are covered e.g. – First aiders, fire marshals, H+S champions
  • Risk assessments: to assist in and to ensure the quality of task-based assessments, manual handling and COSHH assessments, Engineering activities and office-based working

Skills/Experience required

  • Hold a NEBOSH Diploma
  • Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity to deliver under pressure with sound judgement
  • Experience of working with ISO standards
  • Ideally hold a professional membership with the IOSH
  • Full driving licence
