Due to continued growth, my client is seeking a Governance Officer to join their Governance and Compliance Directorate in Chippenham . As a Governance Officer, you will be responsible for supporting and contributing to the Governance Team in delivering the organisations governance and company secretarial functions. You will support the effective operation of the organisations boards and committees.
Key Accountabilities:
- Ensure the timely collation of assigned board and committee papers and packs and co-ordinate their circulation
- Prepare draft agendas and set agenda-planning meetings
- Attend assigned committee meetings to take, produce and issue minutes
- Maintain and update action logs
- Support assigned board and committee meetings
- Assist with the implementation of procedures to enable effective governance
- Support the Governance Manager in the use and ongoing maintenance of the Convene system
- Assist with the recruitment, appointment, and induction of new members
- Assist with the reporting for all subsidiary companies
- Assist in maintaining any regulatory/statutory registers as required
- Acknowledge and respond to enquiries from the business as part of the Governance Team inbox or escalate where required
Person specification:
- Previous experience within a similar position
- Ability to support governance-related policies and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Dedication to quality and high standards and attention to detail
- Ability to organise self and prioritise workload
- Use initiative, capacity and ability to work under pressure on own initiative and as part of a team
- Able to confidently draft letters, and take succinct and accurate minutes
Hours of work will be Monday to Friday 37 hours per week and hybrid working is available
